We offer single vision (distance only) lenses for the Jazz.

After choosing a frame colour, select your lens and any coating preferences, and finally fill in or upload your prescription details.

There are four different lens configurations (clear, fixed tint, polarized or photochromic), with mirror coating options for both fixed tint and polarized lenses.

If you are concerned about writing out your prescription in this order form, you can upload a copy instead and we’ll decipher the prescription for you and make sure it is recorded accurately.

The preparation time for prescription lenses is 21 days.

    2. PRESCRIPTION

    Your most recent eye examination should not be more than 2 years old. If your last eye examination was more than 2 years ago, we advise that you obtain an up-to-date prescription prior to purchasing your RX watershades. If you plan on visiting your optometrist for an eye exam soon, please answer "Yes" to 'Is your prescription less than 2 years old?'.

    3. SELECT LENS TYPE

    All of our Urban RX sunglasses are equipped with Trivex® lenses - which is a polyurethane material. Trivex® lenses are highly impact resistant and are great for an outdoors / active lifestyle. The options include clear, fixed tint, polarised, and photochromic. 

    Fixed tint lenses are non-polarized and come with a smoke or brown base colour. You may add additional coatings (anti-reflective / mirror / anti-fog) in the next steps if you wish.

    The tint of the photochromic lenses is determined  to extent to which the lenses are exposed to sunlight. The light transmission ranges are indicated below the product image. Please note that mirror coatings are not available for photochromic lenses.

  • 4. ADDITIONAL COATINGS

    Our anti-reflection coating is applied on the inner lens surface to reduce back-glare, and the hydrophobic coating is applied on the outer lens surface to repel water droplets.

    Please tell us if you have a positive sphere reading in either your right OR left eye? If you have a positive sphere reading in either of your eyes, a lens edge thinning charge will apply for both lenses

    Add together your SPH + CYL readings for your right eye, and indicate the combined value in the choices below

    RIGHT EYE (OD)

    The sphere (SPH) indicates the strength of lens required to correct your focus. A positive value corrects long-sightedness (hyperopia), whereas  a negative value corrects short sightedness (myopia). We can accommodate SPH readings of (+5) to (-8).

    The CYL (cylinder) value denotes the strength of the astigmatism. Astigmatism means that the eye has difficulty focusing at certain angles. If you have a cylinder value, then you will also have an Axis value. If your prescription shows "DS", this means that you do not have an astigmatism, and you should leave the field blank.

    The Axis is the angle of the astigmatism correction and specifies where the astigmatism is on your eye. The measurement is in Degrees. The values range between 0 and 180. If you have a "Cylinder" value, then you MUST also have an Axis value. Please add it here or leave blank if you have no Axis reading.

    The Pupil Distance (PD) is the distance between the centres of your eyes. Your PD is important in the lens-making process because it tells us where to centre your prescription in the frame you chose.

    Prizm & Base are readings for a lazy muscle and are not present on most prescriptions. If you have measurements for prizm & base on your prescription, please enter them in the boxes below. Otherwise, please ignore.
